VanderWerff Well Construction Project
About
EOCWD is constructing a new groundwater well and, in partnership with the Orange County Water District, a water treatment facility at 210 North McPherson Road in Orange. The new Vanderwerff Well will serve the District’s water customers and enhance available local water supply resources.​
Why is the project needed?

Construction Timeline

Drilling of the well for the beginning of the project was completed in August of 2021.

Construction continues on the rest of the site, with the majority of the noise and vibrations much reduced in 2022.
Impacts during construction

Noise and vibration related to well drilling and other construction activities.

Impacts are expected to be the greatest for the two weeks following the start of construction.

Mitigation Measures

Soundwalls were installed to decrease noise levels during drilling and have since been removed.

Noise levels will be monitored.
